Resilience Practicum #3 - Belly Breathe

Watching the news is painful. The war in Ukraine, continued deaths from COVID, the many injustices in Canada and around the world – it IS overwhelming. Anderson Cooper shared on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert that it is necessary to be a witness to what’s going on. I agree as it is how we connect to our shared humanity and a reminder of the frailty of our world. It is also important to focus on building resilience to care for ourselves so that we can continue to shine our light into the world. It will give us the energy to support each other, navigate uncertainty and find a path forward. I've found that belly breathing is an important tool for resiliency. I find it helpful to calm my mind and body. There are many resources available. Here’s a calm breathing resource from Anxiety Canada. Take the time today to pause, belly breathe and calm your mind and body.  #resilience #breathe #mentalhealth #humanityfirst
