Resilience Practicum #4 - Exercise your creativity

Investing 15-20 minutes each day to be creative at work or in your personal life can pay dividends. It will help you give your mind and body a break and relieve stress.

Here are a few suggestions to be creative in your day:

  • Draw pictures or make a collage to prepare your next project, business or personal plan

  • Take photos and create a file of your own “stock images” to use in presentations

  • Use a warm-up at your next meeting to help people be in the moment and connect. Just ask a question like: “If you had a time machine, where would you travel in time and why?” or “What’s your favourite thing about spring?”

  • Take another person’s perspective as you brainstorm ideas to solve a problem and see new opportunities

One of my creative activities is to paint rocks and add them to my garden. It brings me joy to watch my neighbours stop by my rock garden to peek at what’s new, smile and wave.

What actions are you taking to be resilient?
